Institutional seminar by Dr. Bruce Conklin/Bruce Conklin博士の医学研セミナー

Last month, we hosted an Institutional seminar by my postdoc mentor, Dr. Bruce Conklin. Actually, he visited the Institute 2 years ago, right before I started here. Time flies. I think the projects in the Conklin lab have evolved a lot in a more clinical-oriented way. It was fantastic to see the projects flourish. Many people have left the lab like I did, but many good people have joined the lab as well. That is how a healthy lab respires.

He had great discussions with our lab members as well as some others. I truly respect his passion and energy. I am not 100% sure if I can be like him at his age... 　先月、私のポスドク時代の恩師であるBruce Conklin博士の医学研セミナーを開催しました。２年前の私が医学研に着任する直前に、Bruceは一度研究所に来てくれたことがあります。時が経つのは早いものです。Conklin研究室のテーマが、より臨床的に発展しているように思いました。いろんなプロジェクトが花開いていて素晴らしかったです。多くの私が知っている人は既にラボを去っていますが（私もそうですが）、また新しい人達が沢山加わって、研究室として健全な呼吸をしているのが感じられました。 　私達の研究室のメンバーやその他の人達と、白熱したディスカッションをしてくれました。Bruceの熱意とエネルギーには心底敬服します。私が彼の年齢になったときに、あんな感じでいられるか、あまり自信がありません…
