反町洋之博士 追悼記念シンポジウム・偲ぶ会 / Memorial Symposium and Ceremony for Dr. Hiroyuki Sorimachi

　反町先生の追悼記念シンポジウム・偲ぶ会が開催されました。先生と個人的な面識を得たのがわずか２年ほど前であることを考えれば、私ごときがここで書くべきではないかもしれませんが、それでも大変お世話になりました。もっとお話しして学びたいことも多かったので残念ですが、先生から教えていただいたことをこれからの研究人生の糧にしていきたいと思います。多くの方々が会においでになり、反町先生の人間性の素晴らしさを改めて感じました。 　Memento moriで、生きている毎日をもっと大切にすべきとわかっているはずなのですが、すぐに忘れて気が緩みがちな自分を反省しました。ご冥福をお祈りいたします。

We had the Memorial Symposium and Ceremony for Dr. Hiroyuki Sorimachi. I know I am not the best person to report this event, as I personally got to know him only 2 years ago, but he still helped me a lot set-up and run the lab at the Institute. I truly thank him. I wish I could have talked to him to learn more. It was unfortunate, but what he has taught me will live in my scientific life. Many people came to attend the event, showing his magnetic personality.

I know "memento mori". I understand I have to appreciate my everyday life more, but I often forget it. I reflected on myself. R.I.P.
