ECHO360 2025, Structural Heart Imaging with Asia Valve in Seoul, Korea （韓国、ソウル）

　Pusan National UniversityのChong Kun Cheon博士よりご招待いただき、韓国、ソウルで開催されたECHO360 2025, Structural Heart Imaging with Asia Valveに参加しました。ECHO360は、もともと心臓病に関する学会なのですが、今年初めて範囲を広げて関連するファブリー病などの希少疾患のセッションも開催し、私はそこに呼んでいただきました。基本的に医師の方々の集まりなので、私は少数派でした。毎年韓国で開催されて、今年で９回目だそうです。私以外にも日本の方々も参加されていました。ECHOというくらいですので、心臓病の構造的な観点に着目した研究の話が中心でした。日本で第73回日本心臓病学会学術集会に参加して、勉強していたので、多少わかるようになりました。未だにわからないことも多いのですが…

　自分の発表は、ファブリー病セッションでしたので、多少なりとも会場にいらっしゃった方々に、有益な情報になっていればよいと思います。Chong Kun Cheon博士に感謝です。飛行機の都合上、セッションの途中で抜けなければいけなかったのが残念でしたが。

　Dinner Partyでは、代表のGeu-Ru Hong博士ご自身が司会をされて、盛り上げていたのが印象的でした。食事もおいしくて、また食べ過ぎました。似顔絵のライトをプレゼントとしていただきました。AIによる似顔絵なのでしょうか。私以外のSpeakersももらっていましたが、みんな上手でした。ありがとうございました。

I was invited by Dr. Chong Kun Cheon of Pusan National University to attend ECHO360 2025, Structural Heart Imaging with Asia Valve, held in Seoul, South Korea. While ECHO360 is primarily a conference on heart disease, this year it expanded its scope for the first time to include sessions on related rare diseases like Fabry disease, and I was invited to participate in that segment. Since it's fundamentally a gathering of medical doctors, I was in the minority. It's held annually in Korea, and this year marked its 9th iteration. Besides me, there were also participants from Japan. True to its name “ECHO,” the focus is primarily on research centered around the structural aspects of heart disease. Having recently attended the 73rd Annual Scientific Meeting Japanese Circulation Society and studied there, I was able to understand a bit more. There's still much I don't grasp, though...

My own presentation was in the Fabry disease session, so I hope it provided at least some useful information to those present in the audience. My gratitude to Dr. Chong Kun Cheon. It was unfortunate I had to leave mid-session due to flight arrangements.

At the Dinner Party, it was impressive that Dr. Geu-Ru Hong, the representative, hosted and energized the event by himself. The food was delicious, and I ended up eating too much again. I received a caricature light as a gift. I wonder if it was an AI-generated caricature. Other speakers also received theirs, and they were all very well done. Thank you very much.
