The 3rd Ploidy Meeting @ National Institute of Genetics / 第３回倍数性研究会＠遺伝研

　遺伝研で実施されたThe 3rd Ploidy Meetingに参加しました。４倍体iPS細胞のbioRxivのことをつぶやいたら、お声をかけていただきました。ありがたいです。SNSの力を感じます。iPS細胞を中心に使っているのは私達だけでしたが、倍数性という観点から、いろんな研究が進んでいるんだなと、とても勉強になりました。15年以上お会いしていなかった（多分）、学生時代の先輩にもお会いすることができました。学生達もポスター発表できて、良い経験になったと思います。お誘いいただきまして、ありがとうございました。

　学生時代から、三島に遺伝研がある、ということはよく聞いていたのですが、今回初めて訪れることができました。これまでに何度となく新幹線で通過していましたが、三島駅で降りたのも初めてでした。いいところでした！また発表できるように、研究進めたいと思います。

　I attended the 3rd Ploidy Meeting held at the National Institute of Genetics. After tweeting about our bioRxiv paper on tetraploid iPS cells, thankfully the organizers reached out to me. I'm truly grateful. It shows the power of social media. While we were the only group primarily using iPS cells, it was very educational to see how diverse research is progressing from the perspective of ploidy. I also got to meet a senior from my college days whom I hadn't seen in over 15 years (probably). Our students also got to present posters, which I think was a great experience for them. Thank you so much for inviting us.

Ever since my student days, I'd often heard that the National Institute of Genetics was located in Mishima, but this was my first time actually visiting. I'd passed through Mishima Station countless times on the Shinkansen, but this was my first time getting off there. It was a lovely place! I hope to advance my research so I can present there again someday.
