日本ゲノム編集学会第１０回大会 / 10th Annual Meeting of The Japanese Society for Genome Editing

　東京科学大学（旧東工大）蔵前会館で開催された、日本ゲノム編集学会第１０回大会に参加しました。本来なら梅雨のど真ん中の時期だと思うのですが、快晴、暑くて困りました。 　第１０回大会、ということですが、第１回の頃はほとんどCRISPR-Cas9の話だった記憶があります。今ではCas9以外のCas effector、あるいは、そもそもCRISPRでもないシステムにまで研究対象が広がっていることを実感しました。

　私を含めて、研究室からポスターが数枚出まして、みなさん有意義なディスカッションができたようです。４月にリトアニアでお会いしたSiksnys博士に再開して、お話しできたのもよかったです。

　最寄駅は大岡山なのですが、２本の路線が停車することを知りませんでした。ですので、来たのとは逆のホームで帰るんだ、と思って急いで乗った電車が目黒じゃなくて大井町の方に走って行ってしまい、時間を無駄にしました。私は今、東京科学大学大学院の連携准教授でもあるので、この失敗を今後に活かします。

I attended the 10th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Genome Editing held at the Kuramae Hall of the Institute of Science Tokyo (former Tokyo Institute of Technology). I think it is normally in the middle of the rainy season, but it was sunny and hot, which I did not enjoy.

　I remember that at the time of the first meeting, most of the topics were about CRISPR-Cas9. Now I realized that the scope of research has expanded to include Cas effectors other than Cas9, or systems that are not even CRISPR to begin with.

　It was also good to see Dr. Siksnys again, whom I met in Lithuania in April.

　The nearest station is Ookayama, but I did not know that two train lines stop there. So I thought I was going home on the opposite platform from the one I came from and got on the train in a hurry, but it ran toward Oimachi instead of Meguro, so I wasted a lot of time. I am now an affiliated associate professor at the Graduate School of the Institute of Science Tokyo, so I will make use of this mistake in the future.
