The 2nd CRISPR Precision Genome Editing Europe 2017 in Berlin

　ドイツ、ベルリンで開催された、The 2nd CRISPR Precision Genome Editing Europe 2017に参加して発表しました。ヨーロッパでどういう研究が進んでいるかを知る、よい機会となりました。また、バイオテック企業や、製薬企業の人達と話すこともできて勉強になりました。 　今回、初のヨーロッパ訪問でした。オランダ、アムステルダム空港乗り換えでドイツ、ベルリンでした。ベルリンと言えば壁、ということで、会が終わってから壁を見に行くことができました。子供の頃に壁が崩壊した、というニュースを見た記憶ははっきりと残っています。実際に壁を見て（触って）、歴史を感じました。

　ドイツと言えばソーセージということで、夜店でドイツ版ホットドッグ（?）を食べました。おいしかったです。ビールを飲めば完璧なのでしょうが、私はあまりお酒が飲めないので、人生損をしているのかもしれません。そんなに不満に思ったこともないんですけど。 I attended the 2nd CRISPR Precision Genome Editing Europe 2017 in Berlin and gave a talk there. It was a great opportunity for me to know what is going on in Europe. Also, it was nice to talk to people from biotech and pharmaceutical companies. This was my first visit to Europe. The transit was at the Amsterdam airpot to Berlin. After the meeting, I was able to visit the Berlin Wall. I clearly remember the TV news showing the wall was taken down by people. I felt the history by actually seeing (and even touching) the wall.

I tried a German version of hot dog (?) from a sort of food cart. It was good. Drinking beer would be even better, but I cannot drink much. My life could be happier by being able to drink more alcohol, but it is not bad as it is.
